President Ramaphosa will address the nation on Sunday night at 8:00pm, following meetings of the National Coronavirus Command Council, the President’s Coordinating Council and Cabinet.

Meanwhile, Dr Angelique Coetzee, a GP for 33 years who chairs the South African Medical Association alongside running her practice, told The UK's Telegraph that symptoms from the new variant were different and mild compared those that she had treated before.
