The airline, which is part of the Lufthansa Group, will fly three times a week from Frankfurt to the airport outside Mbombela, near the Kruger National Park, with a short stopover in Namibia.
According to Eurowings Discover Chief Commercial Officer Helmut Woelfel, booking figures indicate that travelers from all over Europe were increasingly being drawn to the African continent.
This service from Frankfurt to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport also opens possible onward connectivity opportunities to other domestic and regional tourist destinations for our visitors , said Grant Ponting, CEO of Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.

Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency CEO Johannes Nobunga said the success and growth of the route depended on the support of all industry role players.
