SECTION 25

25. Keeping of dangerous animals

(1) The City may, from time to time, list categories of dangerous animals or breeds.

(2) A person who keeps a dangerous animal must-

   (a) apply to the City for a permit to keep such a dangerous animal;

   (b) display adequate signage indicating the presence of a dangerous animal;

   (c) take reasonable measures to ensure that the animal –

      (i) does not escape from the enclosure or premises where it is kept; or

      (ii) does not pose a danger, or cause harm to a person, other animal or property; and

   (d) ensure the animal is on a leash, kept under control and muzzled in a humane manner at all times when taken off the property.
